Resuming Classes in the Studio
We are working on plans to resume our activities in the studio.
From 19 April, a few restricted-access classes are taking place under strict Covid rules.
From 17 May, more classes will resume with fewer restrictions but with sensible precautions.
Studio Hire
The studio is available for hire by members for private use whenever there isn't a class in progress. Bookings must be made by email to liversketchingclub@yahoo.co.uk and will be confirmed to you. The cost is £0 per hour.
If you plan to visit the studio - apart from a scheduled class, you must check with the Secretary to make sure there isn't a booking at that time as members who have paid for the hire will expect exclusivity.
Check for availability by email or text to 0779 900 0887.
150th Anniversary
The Liver Sketching Club, believed to be the oldest continuously active art club in England, will celebrate its 150th anniversary in May 2022.
It was founded in 1872 and has been active in the city ever since.
Details of events to mark this significant milestone will be shown on this website nearer the time.
We already have two exhibitions booked.
Online Sessions
The Tuesday evening portrait class is streamed online for club members.
On the first Tuesday of each month, it is also available without charge to anyone who is interested.
Email the club to be added to the circulation list.
On line Portrait meetings.
During the corona virus lockdown the club is running on-line portrait sessions for members.
These are on tuesday evening 6-8 pm and use Zoom.
Visitors can join the sessions by e-mailing the club for meeting sign on details.
Members Notice
Membership renewal 2021
The club’s annual subscription - usually £100 - is reduced to £50 for next year because of the disruption to our activities. The subscription for 2021 is due on 1st January and, if possible, should be paid online.
(Bank details in recent members e-mail.)
During 2021, there will be a significant additional benefit for club members. Plans are in hand for us to stream the majority of our classes in the studio online. All members will be able to access these sessions without cost as part of their membership as well, of course, as being able to attend classes in the studio. This will benefit any member who cannot get to the studio for any reason and also allow us to have members who live far away from Liverpool and who will probably never attend our studio classes.
